They have been learning about organs. Ben says, “this picture is about the bones.” Ben says, “Bones are hard and if we did not have bones in our legs we would fall down.”

Academic Goals

I am trying to catch up on a few posts. Here are the goals for pre K that was presented to us:

  • Recognize and identify all Uppercase Letters
  • Rote Count up to 20
  • 1:1 Correspondence
  • Recognize and Identify all colors and shapes
  • Sight words/Dolce Words, Begin to write their name
  • Begin to write letters and numbers
  • Other(cutting, pencil grip, socialization…)

The Kissing Hand

A couple of weeks ago when we had asked Ben what they had done at school, he said that they had read a book. We asked him what book was read he said The Kissing Hand. Not being familiar with that book, we had to look it up and found it on You Tube.

Goals of the Week 9/24–9/28

Here is what they have planned for next week.

 

  • Pets – Domestic Vs. Wild, Pet Care, Identify & Name various animals that can be pets
  • What is a pictograph and how to read one? (Graphing the weather for the week)
  • Rain Cycle
  • Fall Season – Characteristics of fall (colors, harvest, changes in our environment)
  • Name recognition games & the letters in our name
  • Practice tracing & Writing our names

This Week: Colors and Shapes

They are doing themes/goals for each week. This week was colors and shapes. Each day they wore a different color and brought in a shape for show and tell.

Monday – Wear Red and shape was circle. Ben took a light up ball in.
Tuesday – Wear Orange and shape was square. Ben brought in a Elmo book.
Wednesday – Wear Yellow and the shape was triangle. Ben took an angry bird.
Thursday – Wear Green and the shape was rectangle. Ben took a Domino.
Friday – Wear Blue and the shape was oval. Ben took one of his knee pads.
